Trish Dool has worked as a hairstylist at Eric Fisher Salon for almost twenty years. As Artistic Director of the salon, she is the head of education for their new staff.
Along with Fisher, she leads an intensive training program that involves weekly haircutting class forall new stylists. This education is the backbone of EFS and has been for years. With a haircutting style that comes from in-depth training under Fisher as well as a strong Sassoons education, Dool is a perfect fit for the job. “Part of Trishʼs job is to determine when our new stylists are prepared to advance from their apprenticeship to working on the salon floor,” says Fisher. This system has enabled the Eric Fisher Salon to grow successfully and to maintain a standard that the salon is known for on an international level.
Dool also acts as manager and team leader of all of the salonʼs photographic projects. The salon usually puts out a collection as a team every season. “I really love the creative process of putting together a collection,” says Dool. “Eric and I will come up with a basic concept and then invite the rest of the team to storyboard and fine tune our ideas as a group.” Trish enjoys working on shoots for the salon as well as for her own portfolio. “It is a passion of mine,” she says. “I will always work behind the chair. My clients are my livelihood and I have built some great relationships with them over the years.” She goes on to say that working on a shoot is a great creative outlet and an escape from working in the salon day to day. “Itʼs something that I love to do and I always have something in the works.” Dool is currently training with Aquage to be part of their creative team. “I draw a lot of inspiration from the Aquage team. They are without a doubt some of the most talented artists in the industry,” says Dool. She says that being around such amazing hairdressers as Anne Bray has taught her a great deal about the art of dressing hair. “Haircutting is my first love,” says Dool. “Being around the Aquage team has enabled me to hone my skills as a hairdresser.”
Among Doolʼs personal goals, achieving NAHA is at the top of the list. With Fisher as her mentor and a NAHA winner himself, she appreciates his knowledge and photographic eye. Continuing her own education is always a goal of great importance to her as well. “Eric has taught me, among many other things, to be a ʻstudent for lifeʼ. We can never expect to grow if we close our minds to learning.” She has studied under many industry icons, including Tim Hartley, Vivienne McKinder, and Oscar Bond. “It is my goal to become a better hairdresser all the time, to challenge myself creatively, and to make my mark in this fantastic industry.”

Please don't use my name. I have a question. Many of my clients want to leave un-styled. Not because they don't like it... they just don't want to pay for it! So a fellow stylist friend suggested to not offer a shampoo and cut only option, only a cut and style. They would all pay the same price whether they left wet or not but she says if they pay for it they will have it done. I want some opinions on this please. I don't think it's a bad idea myself but many of my clients may balk at the price difference. I realize it's more professional to style your clients but...? What does everyone think? #behindthechair
#TRANSFORMATIONTUESDAY! ... by @gazzylondon
#btcLearningLab. .. I would never normally post someone's face in my #beforeandafter but I actually feel strongly about this! My client had been having the same colour/technique which caused a build up/ over processed and sensitised hair (which will happen when you don't change sectioning and tones). Eager to return to brighter/cooler result, she went to three salons who told her she must wait, the colour wouldn't hold etc. Finally, we met! It can be daunting in these situations as of course, you don't want to screw it up! But actually, just putting into practice your basic colour theory will often guide you through! Also, look how the correct shade changes her skin tone! #coloured using @lorealprouk @lorealpro #lorealprous @lorealprous #smartbond #hair #blonde #transformation #ash #BlondeAF #rootstretch #rootblur #melting #rootmelt #framarint
